FitOne Boise Half Marathon

A break from the normal taper routine on this training plan!  Instead of a standard 12-14 mile long (real) slow run, I ran the FitOne Boise Half Marathon.  This was not a spur of the moment decision by any means…it’s been on the little next race widget thing on the sidebar for several weeks.  I… Read More »

A quick change to participate in the fun Daily Post Picture of the Week.  My picture is titled, Behind the Seattle Skyline Credit to Wifey for the idea who was participating in the weekly picture theme of the week on her site, and gave me the idea to snap a picture of the Seattle skyline… Read More »

Week 13 Wrap!

Week 13, the highest volume week in my Chicago training plan…done! And, the cool little Strava bubbles prove it 🙂  I wont deny, I am so glad that the long week is done.  For the most part I held up, even extending the midweek run from 12 miles to 13.1, just because I was close… Read More »

Long Run Progression

On the eve of the final long run before Chicago, I thought it would be interesting to look back at the progression of my long runs through this training cycle.  Many runners are approaching their final long run for their Fall marathon or have just completed the last long run and are in the restless state… Read More »

As well as simply updating… Read More »

Another week done!

Another week of training wraps up with the normal long run Sunday.  The planned mileage on the spreadsheet today listed 16, a step-back in terms of distance sandwiched between the 20 mile run last week and the 20-22 mile run planned for next weekend. This completes Week 12 – I think last week’s long run post was titled wrong…something to do… Read More »

Rest Day!

Today was rest day…booyah! Somehow, my mostly self-made custom training plan has had me running every day since my 20 miler last Sunday. Whoever came up with that idea needs a serious kick in the…wait Since last weekend it went something like this: Sun: 20.1 miles 3:00:57 Long run race simulation Mon: 4.0 miles 36:06… Read More »

Chicago Week 12 Long Run

I’ve spent some time and effort into getting the site established and hopefully I’ve been able to share the basic premise of my goal to run a marathon in each state.  I’ve also been reviewing many great sites out there in the running cyberspace and have already had some wonderful interactions with some great runners,… Read More »

The 50 in 50 Marathon Quest

The 50/50 concept from my perspective – my 2 pence! Before going too much further and diving into the countless details and subjects that we will cover throughout this journey, it is probably a good idea to explore the concept of this site and share some insight into the meaning of the 50 in 50… Read More »
