Motivational Music Monday #12

By | May 8, 2016

It’s Sunday night (booooo), which means it’s time to add a new to the playlist (yayyyy).  Having fun with our Motivational Music Monday conversations and, even though I just posted a blog update yesterday, I’m looking forward to week 12 of our music picks.

Not too much to report this weekend, yard work and a rolling hill 12 mile run around the north end of Lake Stevens.  Run volumes are starting to build as I’m roughly following a Higdon marathon bridge plan for 8 weeks between races – customized a bit for my own pacing and hill workouts.  Just under 6 weeks to marathon number 8 at Rock ‘N Roll Seattle.

Let’s move on the tunes…

Week 11 Reader Picks

Thanks again to everyone for joining and participating.  It’s great to hear everyone’s perspectives and I’m glad you are able to stop by and even throw a pick into the bucket once in a while!  Here are the selections from the readers last week along with the links to their awesome blogs.  To get your own MMM shoutout, just add a song in the comments 🙂

  • Goyte/Somebody that I Used To Know from Wifey at Neveradullbling
  • Kenny Loggins/Footloose from Sharon at Artistic Sharon Runs
  • Prince/Kiss from Sarah at Racing Oprah…my apologies to Sarah as this pick somehow got caught up in the #@$%ing WordPress spam filter which I totally missed.  So here is the catchup shoutout…thank you Sarah!!

Thank you also to Mike at Alittlebitoutoffocus for joining in the discussion as well!

Week 12 Selection

This one is relatively new…to me.  Last week, I mentioned we had a great day out that included a Seattle Sounders match.  The team took the field to an awesome song that really got the crowd cranking – at Sounders games it really doesn’t take much, but this was a perfect song as the team lined up.  I hadn’t really heard this song before but it totally resonated and has since been added to the training tunes playlist.  Love the edgy grinding crunch and has a perfect “getting this done” feel to it.

X Ambassadors, Jamie N Commons – Jungle

Hope you all have a great running/training week.  Make you pick below so you can make the esteemed MMM shoutout list next week 🙂

  • Any favorite sports team anthems on your list?
  • If not, that’s fine too, anything goes on Motivational Monday Music so let us know what is rocking your world this week!

‘Till next time,

Run safe, run strong, run happy!

Cheers!
James

Havana Brown-Warrior and Green Day-Basket Case are two of my favs to run to. As for sports anthem, 2 Unlimited-Twilight Zone is probably my all time fav. Awesome song to pump you up for anything!
